AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Walter "Louie" Connell, beloved father and husband of Marylib W. Connell of Henry St., Augusta, GA, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 21, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Connell proudly served his country and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Augusta College and was employed by Meybohm Realtors. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd where he was an usher, bell ringer and a member of the Men's Group. He was a member of the Augusta Country Club and Augusta Board of Realtors. He served several years on the Augusta Richmond Co. Tax Assessors Board. Louie was an avid sailor, hunter and fisherman. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd with The Very Reverend Robert D. Fain officiating. Family will receive friends in the parish hall after the service. Survivors include his sons: Cameron W. Connell and his wife Mona Connell of Evans, GA, and Winton P. Connell of Augusta, GA and his daughters, Cathy Connell of Cedar Key, FL, and Tracy Kocjancic of Cedar Key, FL; one sister, Jane Booth of N. Augusta, SC; two brothers, Larry Connell of Augusta, GA, and the late Thomas Connell and his wife, Miriam Connell of Martinez, GA; four grandchildren, Angela Jones, Jacob Swain, Carli Kocjancic and Alexandria Hill; and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd Alter Guild, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
