COLUMBUS, Ga. - Fermon O. Gannaway, 89 of Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 P. M. in Westview Cemetery, Augusta, GA, according to Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton, GA. Ms. Gannaway was born July 17, 1919 in Augusta, GA, the daughter of Fermon D. Owens and Alma H. Holley Owens. She was a homemaker and a member of Warren Baptist Church in Martinez, GA. Survivors include her three sons, Elton Gannaway of VA, Brian Gannaway of MO and Charles W. Gannaway (Marilyn) of Columbus, GA, a sister, Margie Mitchell of Atlanta, three grandchildren, Deborah Huey, Amy Dekle, Jeffery Gannaway and 8 great grandchildren.
