SYLVANIA, Ga. - James Burton Davis, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. He was born in Screven County, was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church and was a retired parts manager for J&B Ford Tractor. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Carolyn Dunn Davis; Daughter: Judy D. Vanderford. Survivors: Daughter and Son- In-Law: Janie D. and Jimmy Parker of Sylvania; Son-In-Law: Bobby W. Vanderford of Eupora, Mississippi; Sisters: Adell D. Craig of Waynesboro, GA and Elma D. Lee of Millen, GA; 10 Grandchildren; 24 Great- Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great- Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. Visitation: Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services: Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with Rev. Walter Leveritt officiating. Burial at Burke Memorial Gardens.
