AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, March 12, 2009, at his residence, Mr. Earlie M. Trammell of Kennedy Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 1 p.m., from Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Appling, Ga., with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Trammel was a native of Columbia County, Ga., and a faithful member of Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he served with various committees until his health failed. Mr. Trammel was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. After receiving an honorable discharge, he was employed at Fort Gordon, Ga., as a Director of Industrial Operations, retiring after 29 years of service. Survivors are two daughters, Hattie Graham and Candy Trammell, Augusta; adopted daughter, Lure Atkinson, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Amelia Cobb, Augusta, and Amanda Curry, Columbia County, Ga.; god daughter, Patricia Hogan, Augusta; devoted caregiver, Ruth Simmons; 13 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
