MARTINEZ, Ga. - Dr. Major Ernest Shepard Killgore, DPM, U.S. Army Retired, entered into rest Friday, March 13, 2009 at his residence, the husband of Mrs. Brenda Mays Killgore. Other family members are two stepsons, Wayne Edward Lewis, Jr. and Thomas Priddy; one daughter, Laura Leach; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Taylor and Lee Ann Owens; one brother, Frederick Killgore; and numerous step grandchildren. Dr. Killgore was born in Gainesville, Fla. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. During the war, he was a front line medic. He was a member of the Columbia County Rescue Team and Scuba Diving. He was a Protestant. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Christie officiating. Military Honors will be accorded. Dr. Killgore will be cremated following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Woodlawn Baptist Church Building Fund, 4943 Columbia Rd., Grovetown, Ga. 30813. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd., Martinez. Florist: Wednesday, 11 a.m.
