AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Thelma M. Knight of Augusta died March 14, 2009 at Keysville Nursing Home. She was 79 years old. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA 30906, 706.798. 8886. Rev. Sherrell Dunn will officiate. The Committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Michael Brizius, Nick Williams, Thomas Hogland, Bobby Brizius, & Deacons of Curtis Baptist Church. Mrs. Thelma Knight is survived by her daughters, Phyllis K. VanOrnum and her husband Ron, of Augusta, Becky K. Saxon and her husband Allen, of Augusta, Elaine K. Hogland and her husband Randy, of Evans, Tina K. Williams and her husband Kevin, of Lancaster, CA; Brother Alvin W Mayle Jr. and his wife Marion, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Thelma Knight was a member of Curtis Baptist Church where she also was a member of the Single Adult Sunday School Class and the Happy 39'rs. She was retired civil service from Ft. Gordon.
