Thelma Irene Knight (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Thelma Irene Knight of Augusta died March 14, 2009, at Keysville Nursing Home. She was 79 years old. The family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, 706.798.8886. The Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sherrell Dunn will officiate. The Committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Michael Brizius, Nick Williams, Thomas Hogland, Bobby Brizius, & deacons of Curtis Baptist Church. Mrs. Thelma Knight is survived by her daughters, Phyllis K. VanOrnum and her husband, Ron, of Augusta, Becky K. Saxon and her husband, Allen, of Augusta, Elaine K. Hogland and her husband, Randy, of Evans, Tina K. Williams and her husband, Kevin, of Lancaster, Calif.; Brother, Alvin W. Mayle, Jr., and his wife, Marion, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Thelma Knight was a member of Curtis Baptist Church where she also was a member of the Single Adult Sunday School Class and the Happy 39'rs. She was retired civil service from Ft. Gordon.
