Three factors made economic mess

Heck, all the toxic debt is because of people trying to keep up their lawns. Clyde needs to stop worshiping his grass and walking around casting out weed killer on it like it is a magic powder to keep the devil off. Lawnophiles have created the Lawn of the Dead with all these herbicides, fertilizers and such. Not a living thing in those plastic looking perfect carpets of grass found around libraries and such. The Columbia County amphitheater has one obvious crabgrass stalk growing there that I feel protective of even though I know its days are numbered and some bureaucrat county worker will soon slay it.

Greed, fraud, and lack of regulatory oversight are the three factors that led to the problems we now face with our economy.

I agree with Cain's 7:02a comment about the redistribution effort of the CRA being supported and encouraged by Freddie and Fannie. Both parties are responsible for the "unintended consequences" of this social engineering effort. Once again congress has proven that SOCIALISM NEVER WORKS.

My pic-3 are:
-erosion of a value system that is based on a days work for a days pay and working hard to get ahead. Our government rewards irresponsibility over working for a living.
-folks over spending their personal budget, filing bankruptcy wipe their credit clean, and starting the wasteful spending again.
-illegal immigration. It allowed the government to spit in the face of law abiders and showed citizens that crime does pay.

Greenspan, Prez's Clinton and Bush, and Congress are responsible for this economic mess. Greed is neutral as all concerned are greedy from govt to public-no different from any of us truth be known. Humans are a greedy lot. Perhaps opportunistic would be the best description of the tempest. What is sad is no prez or member of Congress will admit any guilt but Greenspan was upfront that in hindsight his actions likely precipitated events. You have to respect Greespan-the govt. is a bunch of liars (just like our new prez).

justus4, here you go again jumping on the military that has sworn to protect the likes of you. If not for the very military you are so eager condemn and to accuse of contributing to the economic mess we are in you just might not have the freedoms you DO have. Why didn't you serve; too much of a hardship for you OR was it because you would really have had to earn your way instead of looking for the handouts???

the thre factors that have made the economy a mess can be put in three letters A.I.G. we keep giving them more money so they van keep giving out multi million dollar bonus checks the goverment has to borrow money from other foriegn goverments but it is up to the middle class to pay it all back by raising taxes

China's just a "little" worried about their 1 trillion dollars worth of U.S. gov't bonds!

Military GOs are required by law (as are SES's) NOT to over spend their budgets which are given to them and usually deepy cut from what was requested. Not surprising you don't have a clue about these things, as if you were ever in the militry, I doubt you made it above E-3 (enlisted grade level 3 for you clueless civilians).

However, I don't agree that it was both political parties that were at fault. Bush attempted to get Congress to reign in Freddie and Fannie only to be given the middle finger salute. Cain tried to pass legislation to reign in F&F in 2003 and again, was given the middle finger salute by Congress led by that guy(?) Barney Frank and the other crook and chief reciever of political donations from F&F, Christopher Dodd-both DIMocRATS.

Yes Jack, Frank and Dodd are two of the egomaniacal arrogant [filtered word]es who got us in this mess and express no remorse or culpability. They should be tarred and feathered. Life in prison is what these criminals deserve, and perhaps one day we will have hearings exposing their contributions so they can be prosecuted.

Bottom line is it is all about money. Create something that can generate money at a large cost and people with money will invest to make more money as long as the make alot of money in the future. Create something that won't cost that much to generate the same revenue but will last forever.. Pay the person off to shut the hell up, it's the only way to make money! When I was a kid I had a neighbor that invented a windshield wiper that would never need to be replaced. Guess what he retired at 35 and lives very comfortably in a 3.5 million dollar estate in PA. I don't know what else he ownes by now but I know he was very set back in 1983. Well we still don't have a wiper that dosn't have to be replaced every 3 years. Go figure. Thanks corp. America! Capitalism sucks!

My other neighbor invented a caborator for a gas engine that would go 60mpg back in 1980. He Lives on St John in the Us virgin islands. He retired when he was 42 and has done real well on the oil company checks.

Now I live in Augusta. One of my pet pev's is standing in line at Kroger and being delayed because the person in front of me is [filtered word] because their EBT card won't pay for their quart of beer.

Spirituality, Clyde Lester you are in a dream world. It will not be until people understand that all religions in this world are here to control the masses that people will understand that it is a farce. You may need to justify your existence on this earth but you don't have to make that agenda part of mine! You are simply here because civilization as we know it has developed to a stage to sustain you. It will just be a matter of time before a meteor or some other catastrophic event happens (i.e. nuclear). Just look at the moon. There are hundreds of meteor strikes evident all over the surface. What makes the people of earth think we are immune to such strikes? It's just a matter of time folks and life as we know it will be over in a matter of days. It will be roaches and Bill Gates that survive. At least 15 years ago when he was building his house he had sense enough to build it mostly underground! The only other group I know of to build underground like that is the government. Go figure, the future is going to have another capitalist!

I agree with Clyde!!! Also the greed, fraud and lack of oversight are the results of this loss of spirituality and worship of "stuff. The military installations are, too. They are just to protect our "stuff." God bless you Clyde, and God help America...please???!!!!
