AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Effie L. McCain, of Harper-Franklin Ave., entered into rest on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Carey Hill Baptist Church, Garrett Road, Edgefield County, with Rev. Clifford Williams officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Mrs. McCain, a native of Clarksdale, Miss., was a member of Carey Hill Baptist Church, Edgefield County, where she served on the Deaconess and Couples Ministries. Survivors are her husband, Samuel W. McCain; one daughter, Rochelle Morrow, Columbia, S.C.; one granddaughter, Tiffany L. Lum, Ashley R. Morrow, Atlanta; one sister, Dorothy Hill, Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S. J. McCain Education Fund. Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah.
