2 sought in liquor store robbery

Columbia County authorities are looking for two men who robbed a Martinez liquor store Friday night.

The men wearing masks and armed with a handgun entered Harvard Wine and Beverage at 110 Old Evans Road about 9:45 p.m., said Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris. No one was injured during the robbery, he said.

The men demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money before running from the scene, Capt. Morris said.

slmpaquin

Where does it say they were from South Augusta?

Bored in GA

PT just thought if it is like the Columbia people come to South Augusta to rob, our people from here go there! Then she would be right!!!!

augusta49

Really....WHERE does it say that they were from South Augusta???????????????????????????????????????

patriciathomas

Oh, I'm sorry, did I jump to a conclusion? These two hold up guys were probably lawyers on a lunch break.(white lawyers)

disssman

Must be false, a liquor store open that late at night on a Saturday and in Gods country no less. But they must have been religious because they only took money, no booze, just money.

sprintman

Pt and her usual comments. Liquor stores, dollar general, walgreens, and convience stores are robbed all the time columbia county. The chronicle just doesn't report on it. WRDW and nbcaugusta do report on crime more in the suburbs including CC. Columbia county is building two new jails that will cost over 5 million. Just goes to show you. The media might not show it especially the chronicle. But crime is happening everyday in CC.

Waymore

Yeah dissman, and maybe the robbers are going to tithe 10% of their "earnings" to their church.

Taylor B

Hey, col county robbed all our commerce, were just getting even

sprintman

Crime in CC is on the rise! Im starting to see more apt complexes that only cost 350-400 a month pop up. Whats funny is alot of the section 8 apts in columbia county are off or near old evans rd.

patriciathomas

You're right sprintman. South Augusta is moving to CC. More robberies are inevitable.

Taylor B

I've been robbing Col county for years, I'm a car technician there

sprintman

patriciathomas i dont get it. The apts on old evans rd in Martinez and Evans. Are columbia county section 8. Do you have something personal against South Augusta. Because you keep bringing it up and the article is about a crime that happen in Evans or Martinez. Depending where on old evans rd the robbery took place..

Taylor B

Col county is overrated.

GnipGnop1

Robbers go where the money is. Geography lines have little to do with it. Drug addicts will rob wherever they think they can A) get money from B) Get the least resistance form those being robbed and C) get away quickly. That's why places like courtrooms, where thousands of dollars in fines are paid everyday, are never robbed. Most drug addicts are stupid but not crazy. Crime happens everywhere. Maybe more in some places than others but it all boils down to opportunity.

WW1949

I think PT was just being sarcastic and the bait was taken.

WAG

Where are the apts that are section 8 on Old Evans rd?
The apts on Washington rd across from Target are not section 8 but they are ghetto. Cops stayed there more than I did.. Yuk

FallingLeaves

I must say, they have fine taste in wine. LOL.

patriciathomas

sorry sprintman, just joogin. I was popin the surface. Didn't expect to catch anything. No problem with South Augusta.

Grasshopper
