COLUMBIA --- House lawmakers are expected to begin debate over the state budget this week, starting Monday with a Democratic caucus presentation on members' priorities.

"Our agenda this year is focused on creating jobs, investing in rural infrastructure and public education, and in providing accessible and affordable health care," caucus spokesman Tyler Jones said. "We're not going stray from our priorities during budget week."

The bill drafted by the House Ways and Means Committee, H. 3560, contains funding details for state agencies.

The Senate will focus its attention this week on a host of bills.

A Senate committee will discuss S. 420, a bill that would make it a felony to commit a crime or terrorist act while driving a vehicle marked as an ambulance.

A committee will take a took at S. 294, which would direct the State Budget and Control Board's Office of Human Resources to compare salaries of officers at state agencies with those in other Southeastern states.

Another bill to get a hearing this week, S. 104, would limit the liability of a farm or ranch owner if a tourist is injured or killed.
