Emergency workers were exemplary

Our family would like to thank all of the emergency personnel who responded so well to our elderly mother's recent medical emergency.

Our neighborhood chief of security was at the house within a couple of minutes to help me; the first responders arrived just a few minutes later; and the Merriwether ambulance and emergency medical technicians and the Merriwether Fire Department arrived shortly after that. Within a total of about 10 minutes, there were probably 10-12 emergency personnel at the house. They were all knowledgeable, courteous, careful and professional.

We wish we could have known and remembered all their names so we could go thank them personally, but in all the panic, we just couldn't.

Thank you also to the outpouring of love and support from so many neighbors and friends that it would take up an entire page to name them here. Our mom is out of the hospital and at NHC HealthCare in North Augusta -- stable, but very frail. The hope is to get her stronger so she can return to our home to be with us.
