Charlie Mae Manley (HEPHZIBAH, Ga.)

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mrs. Charlie Mae Manley, oldest daughter of the later Nora Anderson and Charlie Richardson, entered into rest on Friday, February 27, 2009 at her residence. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Annette Williams officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Garden. Mrs. Manley, a native of Panama City, Fla., was baptized at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Rosenwald High School, Bay County, Fla. and Lamar School of Nursing, Augusta. In 1997, she retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Medical College of Georgia. She was a founding member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church where she served as President of the Deaconess and Mission Ministries. In 2005, she was named "Mother of the Church" and was an active member with the Georgia Baptist 10th District. Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Freddie James Manley; one son, Carleton (Linda) Manley, Fresno, Calif.; two daughters, Debra (David) Rossi, Sharon (Anthony) Ray, Hephzibah; three brothers, Horace Richardson, St. Petersburg, Fla., Freddie Lee Richardson, Harlem, Ga., John Henry Richardson, Panama City, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Alice Ree Manley, Panama City, Fla., Annie Will Richardson, Atlanta, Ga.; one brother- in-law; four grandchildren, Lakeshia Miranda, Christopher, Fresno, Calif., Danielle Ross, Anthony Bryce Ray, Hephzibah; two great grandchildren, Arianna and James Miranda, Fresno, Calif.; special friends, Martha Bennett, Harlem, Ga., Virginia Ellis, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
