WOODSTOCK, Ga. --- A suburban Atlanta high school was locked down Thursday, two students were arrested and three guns were seized after authorities were tipped that a student planned to bring guns to school.
Police locked down the 2,300-student Woodstock High School after receiving a tip that a student had run away from home the night before and was taking three guns to school, Cherokee County Sheriff's Sgt. Jay Baker said. The lockdown ended after two hours.
"These students now face criminal charges and stringent administrative measures as a result of this incident," Woodstock High School Principal William J. Sebring wrote in a letter to parents Thursday.
Sgt. Baker said the two students were taken into custody not long after the lockdown began.
He said an unloaded handgun was found in a school bathroom and two assault rifles with 200 rounds of ammunition were found in the home of 17-year-old Forest McCord Busby, who faces several charges including possession of a weapon on school grounds and possession of a weapon by a person under 18.
He also faces a drug charge after officers searching his home found six marijuana plants in his closet. Mr. Busby was being held at the Cherokee County jail on $20,000 bond.
Sgt. Baker said the second person arrested, a 15-year-old, faces charges including possession of a weapon on school grounds, three counts of theft by taking and being a runaway.
Sgt. Baker said a third student, 17, who is believed to be involved, did not show up at school. That student was being questioned about the case.
Sgt. Baker also said no one was injured.

panther, They're probably still writing about things at the top of the "most discussed" list. This article was at the bottom of the list, isn't a local story, and only one of the three students is pictured here, so why is anyone assuming the students are all white and why was it even brought up? Seems kind of racist to me to make note of their race, so why complain about other posters doing it, if you're going to do it too? I don't get a Monday paper, I just found the article online at 1:50pm.
