Elon beats Georgia Southern

ELON, N.C. -- Drew Spradlin scored 17 points to lead Elon in a 75-61 win over Georgia Southern on Thursday night.

Devan Carter added 16 points and Ola Atoyebi had 10 points for the Phoenix (10-17, 7-11 Southern Conference), who swept the season series against the Eagles with the win. Spradlin was also 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, while Atoyebi hit 6 of 6 free throws and tallied two blocks.

Ben Drayton III led the Eagles (8-19, 5-13) with 26 points, Sandy Perry added 11 and Colby Wohlleb had 10.

Elon opened the game on a 13-4 run, helping the Phoenix to a 36-25 halftime lead. They opened the second half on a 6-2 run and cruised from there.

The Phoenix shot 49.1 percent from the field (26 of 53) compared to just a 38.3 percent mark (23 of 60) for the Eagles.
