I don't mean this in a cruel way, but Biden had some of his brain surgically removed at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He has made many gaffes and even Obama has said that Joe is just Joe when he spouts off. Biden should not be a heartbeat from the Presidency. It is a dangerous situation.

This may be an arcane point, but all internet addresses are in fact numbers. Every computer has an IP (Internet Protocol) number which is unique to each computer, and every URL (Uniform Resource Locator) address also has a unique number. So internet addresses are in fact numbers. Does the term alphanumeric mean anything to ACES or the authors of Republican talking points? I'm not suggesting that is what Biden meant, but he is technically correct. And the fact that Biden slipped and said number instead of address does not signify any mental or technical maladroitness. If this is the best opposition effort that Republicans can muster, it offers clear insight into why the GOP Oblivion Express is at warp speed.

I was certainly wowed that a man as old as Congressman Mark Foley (R-Fla.) was into text messaging. How hip is that, dude? An oldster like him. Then it came out that Foley was text messaging teenage boys who had worked as congressional pages. His messages that could be published were sexually explicit. As for Joe Biden, imagine having someone in high office who can't complete a three-syllable word. It's disgraceful. But of course we don't have to imagine it. We LIVED it--for eight endless years!

At least we Republicans throw out our trash. Do you think for one minute that a Republican would have supported a tax cheat for Treasury Secretary? If such a candidate had been nominated by a Republican President, that candidate would have been out the door as soon as the news became public. Would a Republican President now be on his third candidate for Commerce Secretary? And No, Republicans are not perfect. We have our share of tax cheats, homosexuals (as allured to by a previous post), and philanderers,but we do not try to justify and rationalize their behavior. We certainly do not try to vote them back into office, as has happened with a local Democratic mayor a few years back. The old saying is "It is better to to be silent and remain ignorant, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". McCain removed all doubt by admitting it, Joe Biden removed all doubt by expressing it. Which one would you rather have on your side?

Didn't Treasurer Paulson (former CEO Goldman Sachs) pick him to direct the $350 billion Wall Street bailout? It's the moral principle of the thing, his NOT following the rules. Treasury Secretaries must be extremely hard to come by--and even harder to keep once they're approved (judging from the revolving door on that department during the Bush years). Candidates are usually very wealthy or have an impressive track record for handling the wealth of others. Nowadays either way looks suspicious. "Trust me" hasn't cut it for quite some time.
