WARRENVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest on Monday, February 23, 2009, Mrs. Betty Hite Dean, 96, of 2809 Pine Log Road, Warrenville, SC. Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Leroy Dean and a granddaughter, Paula Overby. Surviving are three sons, David Dean (Linda), Athens, GA, Richard Dean (Linda) and Larry Dean (Anita), all of Warrenville, SC; a sister, Jesse Chapman, North Augusta, SC ; a brother, Tracy Hite, Aiken, SC; six grandchildren, Dana Gibson, Roxi Dean, Joshua Dean, James Dean, Jeromy Dean and Susan Stevens; eight great grandchildren, Chase Gibson, Brandy New, Nicole Jolly, Dean Overby, Ashley Huff, Avery Gibson, Lauren Dean and Megan Willing and four great great grandchildren, Hayley Tunner, Emma Huff, Logan Huff and Ava Jolly. Mrs. Dean was born in Edgefield, SC to the late Ben and Maggie Fulmer Hite. She was a member of Langley United Methodist Church, their Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class, the Methodist Women and the Young at Heart. She loved to garden and she made and sold her jams and jellies. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Langley United Methodist Church with Revs. Wade Everett and Larry Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Joshua Dean, James Dean, Jeromy Dean, Phillip Bledsoe, Michael Blythe, and Glenn Chapman. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Langley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1470, Langley, SC 29834.
