THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Jean Snellings Burgess, 73, wife of the late Henry J. Burgess, entered into rest on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the Medical College of Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2009, in the Snellings Family Cemetery on William Few Parkway. Mrs. Burgess was born in Columbia County to the late Frank Thomas Snellings, Sr. and Elma Newman Snellings. She was a longtime resident of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and was a homemaker. Survivors include two brothers, James Snellings (Linda), Dearing, and Clinton Snellings (Pat), of Harlem; two sisters, Margaret Strother, Martinez, and Brenda Dyches (Paul), Grovetown; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Allen Snellings, Mark Snellings, Lee Snellings, David Martinez, Russell Snellings and Wesley Snellings Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM at Starling Funeral Home, Hwy. 78, Harlem, Ga.
