AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his residence, Dea. Roosevelt Bush, Sr., of Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from Allen Chapel Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Georgia with Reverend Dr. Byron C. Williams officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Dea. Bush was a native of Burke County, Georgia. He was a member of the Masonic Bannaker Lodge #3 and Allen Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as Chaiman of the Deacon Board for many years, until his health failed. Survivors are three daughters, Rosa L. Allen, Augusta, Annie (Charles) Walker, Sr., Jackson, TN and Ethel Wright, Augusta; two sons, Roosevelt Bush, Jr., Augusta and Alex (Benetta) of Detroit, MI; fourteen grandchildren; a devoted granddaughter, Rev. Jacqueline (James) Jones; two sisters, Lottie Cunningham, Waynesboro and Lucinda Martin, Augusta; twenty-five grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
