AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Lillie Key Bailey, of Old Savannah Road, entered into rest Monday, February 16, 2009 at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Reverend Sheffie Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Memorial Garden. She was a native of Clarks Hill, S.C. and lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. where she became a licensed Cosmetologist and owner and operator of a Hair Salon there. She was a retired LPN in the New York Hospital Care System and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she was a member of the Senior Choir, James B. Adams Club, and the Golden Circle. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She marched on Washington with the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and she was an active member of the NAACP, Mental Health Association of New York, Civil Service Retired Employees Association, a life member of the National Association of Negro Business Professional Women's Club, and a member of the Urban League. Survivors are two sisters, Lucile Key, Vivian (David) Dupree; nieces, Shedericka (Clifford) Edwards, Denise Dupree, all of Augusta; great niece, Renee' Edwards, Washington, D.C., Megan (Percy) Bland, College Park, Ga.; great nephew, Travis Blake Edwards, Augusta; great-great niece, Jordon Rosier, College Park, Ga.; a host of cousins and friends.
