AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. Walter Jack Daley, 78, of Parkway Drive, Augusta, GA, who entered in rest February 16, 2008 will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jeremy Daley officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. Mr. Daley was resident of Augusta and a former resident of Charleston, SC. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the 2nd Division, 38th Regiment. He was a Combat Veteran and was the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Korean Medal and the Segma Rhee Citation. Mr. Daley was a Crew Serve Weapons Instructor at Fort Jackson until his discharge in June 1953. He retired from Bechtel Corporation at the Savannah River Site and was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Nealie Daley; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Bonnie Daley, Augusta; two sisters, and Joann Lackie, Camden, SC and Virginia Payne, North Charleston, SC ; three grandsons and their wives, Jeremy and Maria Daley, Jason and Allison Daley and Ryan Daley; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Daley, Lauren Daley, Hannah Daley and Ruth Elizabeth Daley. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Irish Mafia at the Augusta Golf Course. Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Daley, Jason Daley, Ryan Daley, Taylor Daley, John Wall and Lee Luke.
