STATS: 17, Greenbrier High School junior

HIS STORY: Jason is involved in the marching band and the track team. He enjoys reading and volunteering at his church, Oakey Grove Baptist.

On Jan. 20, Jason, his mother and a cousin attended the presidential inauguration.

"We actually ended up watching the actual inauguration on a big screen because of the massive crowds, but later we ended up 30 feet away from President Obama while watching the parade," he said.

According to Jason, the exuberant spectators made for a euphoric atmosphere.

"It was important for me to go, to be there. I wanted to witness something I could tell my grandkids about. I wanted to witness history."
