A 43-year-old Perry, S.C., woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a car accident in Aiken County.
Geneise R. Williams, who died at the scene, was the passenger in a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Jennifer Abney, 42, of Irmo, S.C., according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
The car was traveling north on South Dixie Road in Wagener when Ms. Abney attempted to turn left onto Holiness Church Road, the coroner's office said.
A 2003 Chevy Impala, driven by 18-year-old Ronnie H. Toole Jr., of Salley, struck the Nissan on the passenger side, killing Ms. Williams.
Ms. Abney was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.
Mr. Toole was not seriously injured, according to the coroner's office.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, the third fatal accident in Aiken County this year.
All the occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol.

The driver in Wagner accidentally was driving? Or was the driver accidentally not paying attention to oncoming traffic? Or was the driver accidentally distracted when making an ill advised turn that led to the death of the passenger? Where does accident come into play in this car wreck? The story reads like driver error. Surprisingly, the story also noted the seat belt was being worn by the dead person. (?)
Make that "wreck".
happened without intent. I doubt that they intended to have this wreck.
This motor vehicle collision that resulted in the death of this passenger was unfortunate. A restrained passenger in a motor vehicle collision get's no guarantees especially when a vehicle is t-boned in the passenger compartment in a moderate speed collision. In a t-bone collision with 1 to 2 ft or more intrusion into the passenger compartment will result in injuries and or death especially when the patient is seated where the intrusion occurs. BUT, 8 out of 10 times seatbelts will save your life! Wear your seatbelts faithfully regardless of the sarcasm from libertariens in this column.
The way that intersection is set up, she probably never saw the kid coming and pulled out.
I am familiar with this intersection from working EMS. That could be one intersection the DOT could correct, similar to how they did Hwy 302 and Hwy 4, and Hwy 4 and 394 years ago.
PatriciaThomas what the h--- is your point? There was an accident and a person was killed. It was an article stating that. I guess you were trying to say something negative which is your usual!
Do you expect anything else from PT, when he hides behind an alias as a man.
