Preston T. Rushton (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - North Augusta, SC-Funeral Services for Mr. Preston T. Rushton, 87, who entered into rest February 9, 2009, will be conducted Friday at 11 o'clock at Immanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Coyle officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. Mr. Rushton was a lifelong resident of North Augusta and a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of World War II having served in the 692 Company C Tank Destroyer Battalion. Mr. Rushton was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Mae Rushton. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra R. & Samuel Wright, Aiken; two grandchildren, Jason Goodman, Beech Island and Jessica Connell, Colquitt, GA; three great-grandchildren.
