AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, February 9, 2009 at her residence, Mrs. Evelyn "Nabritt" Tolbert, of Sumac Drive, wife of the late William Tolbert. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Nathaniel Irvin, Sr. officiating. Mrs. Tolbert was a native of Aiken County, South Carolina. At an early age she was baptized at Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church and attended North Augusta Baptist Church. She received her early childhood education at Central Elementary School and Jefferson High School. She was a graduate of Random Business College and Augusta Technical College, where she obtained her Certified Nursing License. After pursing a nursing career, she later became a Processing Technician. Mrs. Tolbert retired from University Hospital after 27 years of service. Survivors are one daughter, Joni L. (Curtis) Thurmond; son, Bobby Lee Jackson, Jr.; one grandson, Christopher Lee Thurmond; four sisters, Betty A. Nickerson, Alice McKie, Judy (Anthony) Colbert and Pauline Nabritt; two brothers, Eugene (Anita) Nabritt, Sr. and Jimmy (Daisy) Nabritt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
