AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Carroll Harley, Jr., 81, entered into rest Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Trinity Hospital, Augusta. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens, Augusta, with Rev. Archie Waltower officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. Family and friends to meet at graveside at 1:45 p.m. on the day of service. He was a native of Augusta, employed a number of years at Riverside Mill, a part-time cab driver for Safety Cab, and the Richmond County Board of Education (Terrace Manor Elementary School). He retired from the Richmond County Board of Education. Survivors are two sons, Dea. Carroll (Sandra) Harley, III, and Dea. Toney (Barbara) Harley, Sr., of Augusta; three daughters, Ms. Judy Butler, Augusta, Mrs. Carolyn (Leo) Brown, Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Sheila (Charles) Coleman, North Augusta; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Essie Middlebrooks, Mrs. Minerva Rhaney, Mrs. Dorothy King, Mrs. Delores (Rev. Archie) Waltower, all of Augusta, and Mrs. Shirley Walker, New York City; a friend, Ms. Rosa Reed, Augusta; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
