Lester H. Schlein (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Lester H. Schlein, 64, beloved husband of Mrs. Diane Anderson Schlein, entered into rest on Monday February 9, 2009 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 3:00 PM at The Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Ruffin, Rev. Fred Gunter, and Dr. Scott Moore officiating. Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Mr. Schlein was a graduate of Augusta State University and also of the Augusta Law School. He was a member of The Hill Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and also a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Schlein was a licensed minister and also a member of the Marine Corps Reserves. He retired from Allstate Insurance after thirty years of service. Following his retirement from Allstate Mr. Schlein started his own business, Lladco Claims Service. In addition to his wife, Mr. Schlein is survived by his two daughters, Leslie Mills and husband Jim, and Amy Munford and husband Brian; his mother, Ruth Schlein of Appling, GA; his brother, Calbert Schlein of Appling, GA; his sister, Connie Saxon of Birmingham, Alabama; and his three grandchildren, Carter Munford, Caroline Munford, and Harrison Mills. Mr. Schlein was preceded in death by his father, Herman Schlein. Pallbearers will be Vince Jones, Joey Jones, Will Sherrill, Benny Griner, Denny Griner, and Louis Schlein. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sunshine Sunday School Class and Allstate Claims Co-Workers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening February 11, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel.
