The Aiken Woman's Club is gearing up for its 16th annual Sample and Share Luncheon on March 7.
"Each of our members picks two favorite recipes to prepare," said Judy Cross, of the group's publicity committee.
Entrees, appetizers and desserts are on the menu, and club members organize the meal so there are plenty of choices in each category. Each member makes several portions so that there is enough to feed 240 people.
Ms. Cross said she has seen the plans for this year's event and knows the food will be excellent.
Each person attending the event will receive a recipe book containing all of the food items served. Cookbooks from past years' luncheons will be available for sale.
There will also be a fashion show by Stein Mart and lots of door prizes.
Tickets are $20 and benefit the club's projects. The Aiken Woman's Club has supported community organizations and programs such as Very Special Arts at the Special Olympics, Celebration of Character and Aiken's Character First Initiative, Habitat for Humanity, the Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons, Helping Hands, the Aiken Community Band, the Aiken County Open Land Trust, the Aiken County Library and the Aiken County chapter of the American Red Cross.
The luncheon will be at noon at St. John's United Methodist Church on Newberry Street. For ticket information, call Gail Ebner at (803) 642-6787.
