MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest January 24, 2009, Don, 67, a resident of Martinez, retired from the Army after 28 years of service. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam as a medic and received many awards including a Purple Heart. Survivors: wife, Gwenette Sellers Tammen; mother, Agnes Ruth Tammen; daughters, Tracy, Rebecca and Dionna; brothers, Thomas (Kelly), Ronald (Peggy), and Larry Tammen; sisters, Ruth Crain (Roger), Lynn Gallman, Judy Hatcher (Howard), Jeri Brown (Greg), and Donna Parker (George). Don was predeceased by his father, Donald J.G. Tammen, Sr. and brother, Kenneth Tammen. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 7, at 1 p.m. at George Walton Masonic Lodge on Damacus Road in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the lodge or Alice Warren Chapter, OES.
