Socialists should put up or shut up on redistribution

At the very least, they should pay ALL of their taxes but if they care so much for the non-workers of America, they should contribute even more. Obviously they believe the government knows how to spend their money better than they do so give it to them and let me keep mine except for the needed items of the government which should be limited to public safety, national security, education and infrastructure. Everything esle, including ALL social programs should be covered by the private sector, friends, family, churches and volunteer organizations.

A true "fair minded socialist" should turn over his entire income to the government and allow it to determine how much should be returned to him for living expenses.

I used to think that Politicians spent millions to get a job that pays far less to garner influence over the money the government gets as taxes. That may be slightly true. But who writes the laws, and the loopholes in the tax laws? And WHAT do they get for that service? Getting clearer every day. Remember: It's not what you spend that makes you rich, It's what you save.

You who scream about "redistribution" just want to pay less than your fair share of taxes. It's proven that the top 400 richest in the US paid only 17% taxes. That is ABSOLUTELY REDISTRIBUTION! Redistributing to the wealthy!

Wealth envy sure is a hard addiction to break. Instead of whining that someone has more, why not take the steps necessary to get more? It's called risk! Without it, there's little gain. The "rich" took the risk and it paid off. Punishment for the productive isn't the answer. Living well is the best revenge.

One of the best arguments I have ever heard to get the Fair Tax passed. It would keep the vary stupid bunch of socolist from using the tax code for social engineering.

Yes, GA, your wealth envy is showing. Join the army, get a useful job in the army, retire from the army, find a job on base with the useful skills you learned in the army, and you'll find you'll eventually make more than 100k a year. Happened to my father, and him and my mother are living rather comfortably, and rather wealthy, I must say. It takes a bit, but if you keep your persistence up, you'll eventually have the wealth my parents have.

Wealth redistribution is nothing more than legalized theft. I make way under $100,000 a year but I don't care how much other people have. They made choices in their life just like I did to be where I am. Could I have done something else? Probably so but for me money is not as important as enjoying going to my chosen job every day. The ONLY wealth envy that I know I have is when it comes to professional sports. We have people in the service, policemen, firemen, EMT's that risk their lives or save other's lives every day getting paid squat and then you have some guy playing a game that makes millions. There is where any real inequity comes in. "And so the reign of the anti-Christ begins....."

Sister...nobody can dispute the fact that the richest one percent earn about 24% of the total dollars earned, and pay over 30% of the dollars paid in taxes (I'm probably off by a percentage point or two, but the relationship is correct). Since that is a matter of public record, they have to try to find a way to talk about taxes that makes them look right. Unfortunately, I think that a more telling statistic would be that 50% of Democrat cabinet nominees to date have failed to pay taxes that amount to tens of thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands. Should they not be looking for ways to pay *more* tax, rather than less? Just to be patriotic and all...?

What everyone has to realize is that the government doesn't want any American to be self sufficient. If you have a comfortable savings and 401 then you are a threat to U.S. government. The government wants all of us to ask them when we need something so therefore they have that thumb on us pressing when they want to.

Oh you mean the govt isn't getting theirs. So inform us how it is redistributed and from whom. I'm getting sick of the Dem myth about tax cuts too. They blame Bush tax cuts on the failed economy when the tax cuts had nothing to do with the failed economy-it's the banking-housing industry silly. Dems create the myths which become mantra and then somehow they are supposed to morph into facts. It is OBVIOUS we need to impeach both the Prez and Congress for their incompetence and inability to deal with any situation. Half of the Prez's cabinet are criminals-the Dem Culture of Corruption cannot be tolerated.

Yea Justus! You're on the right track. Let's take all the individual wealth in this country and redistribute it to those who DESERVE it because of past racial and political oppression. My ancestors were irish and we were discriminated against and placed into forced servitude when removed from debtor's prison and bought by wealthy people who were relocating to this country. egan: Once again the unFair Tax worshippers chime in. All the unFair Tax would do is shift the tax burden to the middle class. It says nothing about spending. As a matter of fact, spending could soar and the 30% sales tax could go up to 50%. All taxes are redistributed, often to something you don't like. I don't particularly like mine going to Halliburton, Blackwater, etc., but them's the breaks.

Well it is about time the Middle Class pay their FAIR share of taxes instead of the tinsy less than 10% of all taxes they have always paid. Equality under the law. The top tier have been getting screwed for decades with the progessive system-so who can blame anyone wanting tax breaks. Taxes aren't redistributed. Taxes are spent by govt for govt activities-like the salaries of the Prez and Congress. That isn't redistribution. With a name like Tech I'm surprised you can't fathom that. Getting paid a salary isn't wealth redistribution-least everyone is guilty who gets a salary so then it is neutral and a non-issue.

Those unproductive cops, firemen,factory workers,etc. They are the one's who have been getting sr*wed with cr*p wages for decades. Juatus, few whites can admit to what? Get off that stupid idea of yours. I and alot of others earned their wealth by taking chances, opening their own business, working way more than 8 hours a day and 5 days a week and by good money mnagement. We saved and did not worry about haveing the best of everything, the best athletic shoes, the fancy sunglasses or anything else that was a fad. We knew a day was comming when we would need that money to live on. It is now here for my wife and for me and we are certainly enjoying all we worked and saved for. Sorry but redistribution is not in my nature or my vocabulary.

I like to think that we might see some kind of wealth equality once the older generations finally die off. We've been anchored for decades by their archaic and idiotic beliefs. But who am I kidding; there will just be a fresh crop of fools raised by them to take their place.

It still isn't "redistributed" it is earned as in bartered for labor or product. Wealth is created then disbributed-not "redistributed". A person receiving wages and benefits gets paid sick leave but the owner takes the risks and still has to pay his employees whether he out a day or month. You chose your path-like you a nurse rather than a physician. And I Ph.D. rather than M.D.. Bill Gates created industry, jobs, and wealth-he didn't redistribute wealth. I guess you went to Augusta Tech. Now as a philanthropist Gates is redistributing his wealth. Wealth is distributed through an economy. If you go buy Microsoft Office you are distributing your wealth not re-allocating it-allocating it.
