Hoyt G. Adams (GROVETOWN, Ga.)

GROVETOWN, Ga. - Retired SFC Hoyt Griffith Adams, 71, husband of the late Marjorie M. Adams, entered into rest Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the Heartland Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel, with Revered Jim Morris officiating with full Military Honors. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hoyt was born Fulton County to the late Worley Columbus Adams and Mary Ruth Griffith Adams. He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the U.S. Army, having served in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Hoyt was a Purple Heart recipient. He was also retired from the Post Office. Survivors include one sister Marlene Ruth Mashburn and husband Donald, of Athens; two nieces, Karen M. Kilgore and husband Kenneth, of Athens, and Jeanne D. Pearce and husband Jim, of Suwanee; one nephew James Greg Mashburn and wife Kim, of Warner Robins; and several great nieces and nephews; and a special dear friend, Sarah Barnett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1365 Interstate Parkway, Augusta, GA 30909.
