History and current events teachers should take note of Charles Krauthammer's column in the Feb. 2 Augusta Chronicle ("Why are we apologizing to the Muslim world?"). It should be mandatory reading for their students and for them.
We may not do everything exactly correct or events may not happen as planned -- heaven knows there were mistakes in World War II -- but we did rid the world of several very evil rulers and free millions of people. I can vividly recall those days. Now our new president apparently is going on a mission of apologizing to the world, starting with the radical Muslims leaders, for having shed our blood (and that of other nations) to free several countries in the Mideast and elsewhere. He should be proud that those people are free now, and let other oppressed people know we are ready to help them when appropriate circumstances and opportunity exists.
It may be coming to pass very early that Obama, with only a couple of years in the Senate, is too young to know our very proud history. In addition to Lincoln, he should be reading Eisenhower, Churchill, Reagan, Marshall and Truman for insight.

Hell, I'm an atheist, but the Muslim haters and international meddlers (mostly Christians and wealthy politicians) are responsible for the world's anti-America hatred we hear of today. I didn't vote for Obama but maybe, just maybe he will be the one that begins to put America back on the "good" side of world opinion. He has my best wishes. Mr. Johnson, our own history has shown that folks that want freedom from tyrants and autocrats usually do not wait for another country (especially one half way around the world) to provide it for them. I do not have a problem with Prez "O" reaching out to the Muslim world as long as Prez "O" does not appease any future attacks on U.S. interests as the previous Democratic administration did for 8 yrs. You need to fight "fire" with "fire" and let the radical extremist Muslims know we won't put up with it......we also need to remember back on 9-11-01 when the news showed Muslims celebrating in their respective Muslim countries as the Twin Towers fell. I work with a Muslim and I know that not all of them were happy about the attacks on 9-11 and I know a lot of them are peace loving, but we should never turn our backs on the radical exremists who look forward to putting America on it's knees again.
President Obama has not apologized to the Muslim world. He has asked them to give up their violence and anger.
