AKA: B. Jamaal Francois
SCHOOL: Sophomore, business administration major, Georgia Southern University, Statesboro
RECENT HONOR: Named best new artist at the CSRA Hip-Hop Awards, 2008
BEST PERFORMANCE: CSRA Hip-Hop Awards at Julian Smith Casino, 2008. "They had the red carpet, everybody was there. They had cameras. They had a good crowd. ... It was like a real awards show. It was real nice."
FAVORITE TV SHOW: FAMILY GUY
IF HE COULD OPEN FOR ANYONE: "Probably Ludacris. He's my favorite rapper. I really look up to him, and not just so much because of his music but how he went about it. He's not just an artist; he's a businessman. And that's what I'm trying to be, too. I don't just want to be an artist. Like, I'm the CEO and president of my own independent label."
PRE-SHOW RITUAL: "I pray."
SONGWRITING PROCESS: "I get inspired from instruments. I rarely write without hearing music first. And it doesn't take me long at all to write. Sometimes I just go to the studio and write there instead of writing before and then coming to record. But I just sit down and meditate on the beat, and sometimes I don't even have to write. I'll write in my head. It's just something about the beat, and that's what gives me the concept for the song."
FAVORITE FOOD: Mexican
WHAT HE HOPES TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS: "I plan to be known at least around the country we live in. Hopefully I'll be a major artist by then."
