NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas Lee "Tommy" Coates, 56, of North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest January 23, 2009, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Victory Baptist Church. Dr. R. Larry Brown, Rev. Chris Brown and Rev. Steve Hurte officiating. Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mr. Coates was a life-long resident of the Augusta-North Augusta area. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he taught 1st & 2nd Grade Boys Sunday School. He was an ordained minister with the Congregational Holiness Church and was a former Master of the Royal Rangers at the Flowing Wells Road Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Paula E. Coates; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa & Chad Riley, Aberdeen, NC; two sons and daughter-in-laws, William & Marie Hughes, Aiken, Michael Hughes & Lynn Langston, North Augusta; two brothers, Danny Mills, Graniteville and Jack Kimbrell, Johnston; a sister, Judy Winter, Hephzibah; three grandchildren, Cole Riley, Katelyn M. Hughes and Morgan L. Hughes; members of the George Hughes Family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Saturday evening from 6 until 8.
