AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into eternal rest at his residence on Done Roven Road in Augusta, Ga., on Thursday, January 22, 2009, Mr. Charles M. Coker, age 75, husband of the late Joann Bilton Coker and son of the late Rev. James Coker and the late Alma Norris Coker. He is survived by his children; Cynthia (Kirby) Jackson of Augusta, Ga., Charles A. (Ruth) Coker of Clinton, S.C., Marie (Michael) Hensley of Augusta, Ga., Janice Johnson of Adrian, Ga. and Grace (Wayne) Fray of Waynesboro, Ga.; brothers, Joe Coker and Jamie Coker; sisters, Lila Gordon and Loretta Bailey; twelve grandchildren, one very special grandchild and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard and three sisters, Rosalee, Juanita & Wilma. He was born in Greenville, S.C. but has been a lifetime resident of Augusta, Ga. He was a retired Supervisor for Defenders Inc. He was a US Army Veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated member of Full Gospel Redemption Center in Langley, S.C. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but life for him has not ended; because as he took his last breath, in the arms of his daughter, Cynthia, with other members of the family present, a smile came over his face, then we knew that life for him had just begun in a land with no more pain or sorrow. Mr. Coker's homegoing will be celebrated on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Full Gospel Redemption Center in Langley, S.C. with Rev. Chris Williams, Rev. John Price and Rev. Steve Black officiating. The interment will follow at the Langley Cemetery in Langley, S. C. , with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, January 25th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Napier Funeral Home. Memorials may be made, in Mr. Coker's honor, to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29210. Mr. Coker will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
