Leroy Walker   (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Leroy Walker, 53, of Johnson Road, entered into rest January 20, 2009. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Mealing Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmie Dyson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Walker, a 1973 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School, was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Mealing Grove Baptist Church where he served on the deacons ministry and choir ministry. Survivors include his wife, Christine Wigfall Walker; a daughter, Keisha Walker; a son, Steven Walker; his father, Roosevelt Walker, Sr.; two brothers, Roosevelt (Polly) Walker, Jr., and John Henry Walker; four grandchildren; godchildren, Janaeshia McKie and Antonio Grant; one aunt, Frances Glover; five uncles, Butler Walker, Bill Walker, Willie (Min. Bea) Lee, Grady Lee and Lawrence Lee; a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. G. L.
