NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. James C. 'Jake' Marbach, 89, of North Augusta, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, SC. Jake was a native of Millen, GA. He moved to Augusta before proudly serving in the U. S. Army during World War II in Germany. After his military service, he worked for Murray Biscuit Co. He retired from M&M Produce Co. He was a devoted husband and father, a generous handyman to his family, neighbors, and friends, an avid golfer and bowler, and member of The Hill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home with the Revs. Fred Gunter and Bob Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mabel W. Marbach of North Augusta, SC; a son, James F. 'Jake' Marbach and fianc, Dale Scott; and a daughter, Betsy M. (Milt) Kinne. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, at The Hill Baptist Church Welcome Center on Kings Way in Augusta.
