EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, January 20, 2009, Mr. Preston Eatonton Thomas, Jr., 64, beloved husband of 42 years to Patricia Jones Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a native of Waycross, GA and had lived in Evans since 1971. He served as a State Farm Insurance Agent for 33 years. Mr. Thomas was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta. Above all he loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Christopher Lee Thomas (Apryl) of Watkinsville, Nicholas Andrew Thomas (Merri) of Villa Rica; grandchildren: Camilla Shay Thomas, Sophia Sherri Thomas, Anna Jaye Thomas and Luke Preston Thomas. The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice for their love and support and thank Mrs. Beverly Maynor for her loving care during his illness. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
