AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Oscar Travis, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, entered into rest on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Spring Grove Baptist Church, 5184 Farmers Bridge Road, Hephzibah, Ga. A native of Hephzibah, Mr. Travis is the son of the late Albert and Lucile Travis. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughters, LaTundra Schawann Pryor and Jacquelyn Diane Travis; stepchildren, Vernon (Denetria) Neely, Adrian Neely, and Phillip (Jaclyn) Neely; and grandchildren, Jaylon Neely, Jayson Neely, and Jordyn Neely. He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Annie Willie (Patrick) Wyman. Remaining siblings include Mattie Bell (Ernest) Lowery, Rebecca Blocker, Augusta, Alberta Marshall, Philadelphia, Pa., Henry (Carolyn) Travis, Hephzibah, Lucille (Alphonso) Brown and Ruth Travis, Atlanta, Ga.; mother-in-law, Katie Hampton; father-in-law, Carl (Florence) Davis, Jr.; and brother-in- law, Phil Hampton, Athens, Ga. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. There will be a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at C.A. Reid, Sr. Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence, 3626 Bermuda Circle, Augusta.
