Frances Johnson Holmes (BARNWELL, S.C.)

BARNWELL, S.C. - Mrs. Frances Johnson Holmes, 87, widow of David Harmon Holmes, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Bamberg County Nursing Center. Mrs. Holmes was born in Saluda County on May 22, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Allen Tupper Johnson Sr. and Sue Matheny Johnson. She was a member of the Double Pond Baptist Church and a former faithful member of the Johnston Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Mount Vernon Mills. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at Mole Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughter and son in law; Barbara H. and William (Jerry) Harrell of Barnwell, SC; Grandson and wife, Cliff and Christina DeRienzo of Lexington and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Emily DeRienzo.
