AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Theodora D. Booker, of Anthony Road, entered into rest Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Golden Living Center of Augusta. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Booker, a native of Augusta, was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, a 1946 graduate of Haynes Institute, and a graduate of Morris Brown College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a retired employee of Richmond County Board of Education after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Haynes Alumni Association, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Publications Committee, E.L. Stewart Choir, New Era Sunday School Class, October Birth Month, and the Les Femmes Fatales, where she served as Treasurer. Survivors are her son, Leon Booker, Jr.; one brother, Henry (Juana) Darlington, Jr., Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Monique Rose, Leon Booker, III, and JaQuan Booker; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Coleman, all of Augusta; brother-in-law, Willie Johnson, Atlanta, Ga.; two nephews, Reginald (Jeanette) Johnson, Peachtree City, Ga., Marque (Robin) Darlington, Newnan, Ga.; three nieces, Yolanda (Bryan) Allen, Mableton, Ga., Carla (Jeffery) Hairston, Douglasville, Ga., Kimberly (Adrienne) Butler, Fayetteville, Ga.; three devoted caregivers, Mary Liason, Brenda Wright, Pamel Lewis; a host of other relatives and friends.
