AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Vincent O'Neal Richardson, Sr., departed this life to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, January 16, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Kedron Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Brad Willis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Redds Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vincent O. Richardson, Jr., John A. Richardson, Sr., Thomas E. Richardson, J. Michael Hooper, Jack Busbee, John W. Anderson, Michael L. Richardson, John A. Richardson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Dusty Williams, Keith Phillips, Wade R. Richardson, Jr., O. W. Ray, Tom Tyler, Leon (Blue) Boyer, Nicholas J. Richardson, Michael (Mikey) Richardson, Greg Anderson, Robert A. Anderson, Jr. Mr. Richardson, 65, was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and was affectionately known as ÃPopà by his loved ones. He was a coach and mentor to many. Mr. Richardson coached Dixie League Baseball both for his sons and grandsons, coached basketball, and coached softball for Redds Branch Baptist Church and Kedron Baptist Church. He was a 1961 graduate of Aiken High School and retried from BellSouth Telecommunications as an Outside Plant Technician after more than 25 years of service. Mr. Richardson served as chairman of the deacons at Kedron Baptist Church. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, John Hamilton Richardson and Mollie Richardson Richardson, and future granddaughter Megan R. Johnson. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 45 years, Rinda Anderson Richardson; daughter, Jeri R. (Mike) Hooper, North Augusta, SC; sons, Vincent O. (Jan) Richardson, Jr., Benson, NC, John A. (Diane) Richardson, Aiken, SC, and Thomas E. Richardson, Aiken, SC; sisters, Juanita (William) Chenault, Orlando, FL, Carolyn (Lindy) Lott, Aiken, SC, Janie (Johnny) Kelly, Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Michael (Whitney), John (Celeste), Nicholas, Kayla, Bevin, and Greg Richardson, Michael Hooper; step grandchildren, Vannessa and Casey Bland; Jessecca (Lee) Lenzina, Chris (Jenny) Kirkbride, Mitchell (Kim) Kirkbride, and Ashley Trull; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved cousin Wade R.
