Audrey Ann Birchett (MARTINEZ, Ga.)

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Audrey Ann Birchett of Martinez, Georgia, originally of Graham, North Carolina, beloved wife of Albert E. Birchett entered into rest January 15, 2009. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2009, 2 PM, Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia, Reverend Tony Christie officiating. Interment will follow at South Harlem Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Albert E. Birchett; two sons, John and Ernest Birchett of Martinez, Georgia; three daughters, Felicia (Robert) Pope of Evans, Georgia; Catherine (Albert) Sweeney and Cheryl (Gene) Wheeler, both of Graham, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers, James Glenn Cornell of Elon, North Carolina and Michael Cornell of Jamestown, North Carolina; four sisters Joan Purvis of Burlington, North Carolina; Kay Lee of Willow Springs, North Carolina, Gail Jordan of Elon, North Carolina, and Lisa Harrison of Burlington, North Carolina. Mrs. Birchett graduated from Graham High School in 1958. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Grovetown, Georgia where she also was a member of the Love Class. Ann volunteered with Army and Air Force families, both in the United States and Germany over the course of many years. Mrs. Birchett was a beloved Daycare teacher at Marshall Road Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Arkansas. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 17, 2009, from 6 to 8 PM at the Columbia Road Chapel.
