When is enough enough? Abortion? Taking prayer out of school? Borrowing money from China? This may come as a shocking statement to American chauvinists: God is not an American.
Is it not obvious that the United States has done something that has angered God? What was once the greatest nation in the world, now is the most indebted nation in the world with the highest per-capita crime rate. We may stand and sing, "God Bless America" until we turn blue, but unless we bring forth the actions to indicate that He is the Sovereign God of this nation, God will not bless America.
With God's hand of blessing out of the way, Satan rode into the schools on the road that the Founding Fathers of our nation paved. The men who gave their lives to establish "One Nation under God" intended for youth to honor God and to be educated with "In God We Trust." The road our Founding Fathers paved for educating our youth now carry Satan's cargo and doctrines instead.
Now his philosophies are being taught to our youth. I keep hoping and I pray that soon our youth will stand up and do what we haven't done and say enough is enough, now let's put God first and He will bless America again.
Teens, I say to you be our leaders, take our country back, pave the road in the right direction. Show us how to handle our finances, keep our babies alive, put prayer back in school. We are still a nation under God, and I know God will bless this country.

Linda, the present problem with our nation is that the tooth fairy, leprechauns, santa clause, the easter bunny and numerous other figments of ones imagination have turner their collective backs on America. God probably joined the pack "after-the-fact" in order to be a part of the in crowd. Smile! GGpap.
We said enough is enough on November 4, 2008. Enough of the misogyny in government, especially from anti-choice politicians. That's why we kicked out several of them -- from Sununu to Dole. Enough of the racism coming from so-called Americans when we rejected McCain and Palin. And pretty soon, we will say enough is enough to homophobia.

What exactly does the author of this letter envision as "prayer in school?" A student can say a silent prayer anytime in school. Are her thoughts that schools institute a time in class for everyone to stop and have prayer? If so, which religion's prayer are they required to recite? Will every day have a different religion's prayer?
Not having prayer in school is the least of this nation's problems.

The motto"In God we Trust"first appeared on a United States coin in 1864,but did not become the official U.S.national motto until after the passage of an Act of Congress in 1956.The Pledge of Allegiance was not written until 1892,the phrase "under God""was not added until 1954 after a campaign by the Catholic group the Knights of Columbus.It seems our founding fathers were long dead before any of this took place. As to prayer in school:You can pray in school, you just aren't allowed to have teachers or administrators leading the prayer.Many students gather at the flagpole before the school day for prayer even though Jesus said:"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are:for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.But thou,when thou prayest,enter into thy a closet,and when thou hast shut thy door,to thy Father which is in secret;and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."Matthew 6:5-6.I imagine if there was a prayer you didn't agree with,ie. a Hail Mary if you're not Catholic,you'd be among the first to try to stop it.
Great letter Linda. Jesus said if someone doesn't understand sowing and reaping they won't understand anything. The negative comments reflect that. You will be blessed for the stand you take. The anti-God crowd has to maintain a huge faith that all they see is an accident and it is a very stressful lifestyle. They have no peace or joy because the hole inside them that God wants to fill is still empty. Always expect the lost person to act lost and you will never be disappointed. Out of the heart the mouth speaks so our comments reveal our heart.
If they had a clue how much God loves them they would instantly change.

Another idiotic LTE by someone who is trying to force their flawed perception onto everybody..I tell you what, if Linda Kitchens doesn't think our country is blessed she shoud travel and find a better place to call home..God's favor was with America when she was a colony believing in witchcraft and burning people, when she was founded and indentured servants was a term used to exploit people for low wages, was with her through the scourge of slavery, through the times when Indians were nearly decimated, through the plight of women treated like second class citizens, through the internment of Asian Americans, through the civil rights movement, and NOW!! I'm sick of people who think just because they are unhappy that God must be..Trust me, if God was unhappy it won't take him but yeah less than a second to fix the problem! And to call on teens to fix our problems is yet another person who won't take responsibility for their destiny and would rather put the burden on someone else...btw, who the hell is teaching the teenagers? God & Satan -- Is that all your editorial board can select from your readers? Every day, nothing but the rantings of another religious fanatic, and you continue to give these people a sounding board. Have you never even thought that there might be no God or Satan? Is that beyond your evangelical training? Enough! Just a final thought - perhaps that's the only type of people that read your rag . . .
Let's hope that Linda never "automatically" blesses someone in the name of God after she hears them sneeze! Guess it's not up to us to let her know that the real reason she's doing so is to prevent evil demons from entering her body and stealing her soul, as was believed in the the Middle Ages!

Our Founding Fathers did not intend for our nation to be a Christian Nation. Does Separation of Church and State ring a bell?

Nobody should be forced to pray in school. What happens to the kids from atheist and agnostic families? Are they to be excluded. If atheists are more annoying it is only due to the fact that they are constantly having people try to shove Jesus down their throats.
