LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Graveside services for H.J. "Jim" Turner, Jr., will be held, today, at 3:30 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta. Mr. Turner, son of the late H.J. and Effie Murrel Turner, was a native of Charleston, S.C., a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and had retired from Savannah River Site. He had lived in the Augusta area most of his life and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. His daughter-in-law, Michelle, preceded him in death. Jim was a hard working man who loved God, his family and his fellow man. He dedicated his life to his family and enjoyed his grandchildren. His strong work ethic was passed on to his children. Proof of that can be seen in the way that his children and grandchildren have lived their lives. Survivors: Wife: June Jensen Turner; Daughters: Sherry Stewart and husband, Vernon of N Augusta, Cindy Youngblood, and husband, David, Martinez; Sons: Dr. H.J. "Rocky" Turner, III and wife, Janet, of Spartanburg, SC, Dr. Steve Turner, Atlanta, Ga., Dale Turner, Lincolnton, Randy Turner and wife, Jodi, Appling, Ga., Stanley Turner, and wife, Candy, of Appling, Ga.; Brother: Ted Turner, Ohio; Sister: Mae Pendleton, St. Mary's, Ga. and Betty Kennedy, Irmo, SC; Grandchildren: Dr. V. Brooks Stewart, Krista Durtschi, Kimberly Brown, Clay Turner, Hart Turner, Jensen Turner, Jacqueline Odum, Dylan Turner, Jessie Turner, Ben Turner, Cody Turner, Stacy Oester, Melissa Puryear, and Amir Turner; 6 Great- grandchildren.
