Service to address legacy of Dr. King
An interfaith service, Who Will Bail Out the Dream? Why Dr. King Still Matters, will start at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 629 Greene St.
The service was organized by the Progressive Religious Coalition of Augusta in celebration of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. 's birthday.

Winter Jam 2009 will be at James Brown Area on Thursday.
The annual tour of Christian musicians includes tobyMac, Hawk Nelson, Brandon Heath, NewSong, Francesca Battistelli, pureNRG and Stephanie Smith.
Tony Nolan, an author and tour pastor, will speak.
Tickets are $10 at the door, which will open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Youth leaders are invited backstage to meet the artists and pray before the show.

Jubba to perform at hip-hop event
Gospel artist Jubba will perform at the Holy Hip-Hop Music Awards on Friday in Atlanta.
The show at the Center Stage Arena begins at 7 p.m. with Jubba, an Augusta resident, taking the stage in the first hour.
The ninth annual awards recognize some of the genre's leading gospel musicians and serves as a summit for ministers who use hip -hop and gospel in their work.

Catholic ministry targets backsliders
St. Mary' s on the Hill Catholic Church has started a ministry to help Catholics inactive in the faith.
The six-week series offers participants the chance to discuss the reasons they're currently not active in the church.

New Year resolutions look toward spiritual
