Comments from our readers:

IT APPEARS FROM READING the schoolchildren's letters to Mr. Obama that the school systems in the CSRA are doing an excellent job of indoctrinating the students in the tenets of socialism.

JIMMY CARTER'S house building apparently ain't what it's cracked up to be. Some of those houses in Florida are only eight years old and residents say they're filled with bugs, mildew, etc. Soon, what else? Lawsuits. One may claim that the whole group of houses was built on an old rubbish dump. Looks like Carter's influence on Habitat for Humanity was about as good as his influence on the U.S.

AMAZING THAT for five decades, when Arabs incessantly attacked Israel, nobody around the world held big demonstrations demanding Arab blood. But when Israel defends itself, there go the demonstrators, screaming bloody vengeance.

A RAVE FOR MARILYN at the Food Lion on Petersburg/Old Evans Road! She always knows when I am having a bad day and she always goes out of her way to help. God bless Marilyn, Carol and Buddy -- they are the reason I shop there!

JUDGE JAMES G. BLANCHARD -- I admired his mettle; a good name is an invaluable possession.

THE AUGUSTA TRANSIT system needs to be operated by a professional management company. The taxpayers of Richmond County are tired of our so-called leaders wasting tax dollars on a broke-down transit system.

A RAVE TO Rev. Cindy Taylor. Her dream and call to begin a new Episcopal Church in Columbia County that she shared with me in 1999 has come true. Congrats on your new church building!
