Jury deliberates man's responsibility in death
A jury returns to its deliberations this morning to decide whether an Augusta man is responsible for a man's death.
Lorenzo Dexter Lindsey, 30, has pleaded not guilty in Richmond County Superior Court to murder and weapons charges in the Aug. 11, 2002, shooting death of 28-year-old Marcus Taylor.
Mr. Lindsey was convicted in Mr. Taylor's case, but the Georgia Supreme Court reversed the conviction. Detectives allege Mr. Lindsey hired a man to kill Mr. Taylor in retaliation for Mr. Taylor's testimony in another murder trial. In that case Mr. Lindsey was convicted, but the state's high court reversed the conviction and Mr. Lindsey was acquitted at his retrial.

"Walter E. Stuckey Jr., 52, of Martinez, was named in the 10-count federal indictment, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Edmund A. Booth Jr. Mr. Stuckey is accused of scheming to cheat mortgage lenders between 2002 and 2006." --- Go get'em Mr. Booth. Nothing worse than these types of scavengers. It's folks like that is why we have our housing mess now. Money NEVER grows on trees, and "free" money always has a high interest to pay later.
Did she pay it back??????????? probation for stealing 12,000????? If it was my money she could TRY to hide in Savannah I would find her.....bottomfeeding thief.
Then don't sign your name on the dotted line. Nobody can talk you into taking a house you cannot afford...that is what started this mess. People living beyond their means. Now while scum like Stuckey deserves a stint in a federally funded dorm, don't put all the blame on him. The blame should also be on homebuyers that went into real estate transactions knowing they would have to pay the fiddler one day. It's the old I,ME,NOW syndrome. I hate to see someone lose their home but fiscal responsibility would have been better served by them. If you don't think you can afford it don't buy it. Even people with money sometimes have to step down a few notches to make prudent financial decisions. Please be smart when dealing with any financial transactions. If you don't understand, ask questions. you pay a lawyer for the closing, he works for you....asks questions. Even the silliest questions. A teacher told me once "the only dumb question is the one you don't ask" That's just my opinion.
And before Justus4 gets on here....she must have been white.
LOL Karma you all talk, you wouldn't have touch, said or did anything to her, you said you have children so if you had (if it was you) wouldn't you put your children in a dire situation if you harmed her? Oh and if you had done harm to her maybe killed her would you have done your children a favor by not having a mom around? Get real you all talk behind your computer screen.
Not only would I find her I would become her personal stalker...every job app...every loan app every day care center every person she did any type of business with ..every interviewer would have her "legal history"sent to them....and she would be sure to lose at least 12 grand in personal property...oh yeah
Be quiet karma really be quiet if it was you and you did that it probably woudn't effect her life in any way.
I would not do harm to her person...I said personal property...it's quite easy to do and you jacky have no clue as to what I would do .....nobody steals from me and gets away with it.And I could do it all from my computer.
Wow must be hands down love the criminal all the while stomping the victim into the ground this week in the Courts...Now people, who are in position of responsibility, can just help themselves to another's bank account with a kiss on the cheek and a pop on the wrist...
Who says crime doesn't pay?
Steal $12,000 and get probation, boy that will really teach people working in these places not to steal........who was the judge in this case.
Best Interest I've heard of since the Carter days.
Probably friends & family deal cut.
Wow. Puts a new meaning into the phrase "bank job" geez. 5 years probation for stealing $12,000 from someones account while you're an employee at a bank...is ridiculous.
Did she think $12,000 would not be noticeable?
Rather than rob a bank, these thieves should start working there and just steal it.... they would get in less toruble!!! Ridiculous!!!
LOL gnipgnop
!2,000 and only probation? OMG that is a crime in itself only getting probation! Who did she pay to get her out of this mess? She needs to pay back the 12 thousand and GET JAIL TIME? I think I'll rob my employer, I may get away with it, and heck if I do I will just get probation? What a CROCK OF SH##!
No mention of WHO the judges were in these cases. You can almost assume that it is Overstreet with the lenient sentencing for stealing as a bank employee and having stolen weapons.
Stuckey was guilty of stealing from mortgage lenders...or scheming to. Not from people receiving the loans. He couldnt make it on his own.
