APPLING, Ga. - Mrs. Mildred Bennings Brooks Holloway, of Washington Rd., entered into rest on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at University Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12 noon at Mt. Olive Memorial Garden with Dr. Johnny R. Hatney officiating. Mrs. Holloway, a native of Augusta, was a 1958 graduate of Lucy Laney High School and a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors are three daughters, Cheryl Renee (Melvin) Brooks Dukes, Hephzibah, Felecia Ingram (Bernard) Brooks Henderson, Johnston, S.C., Valarie Michelle Brooks, Hephzibah; four grandsons, Melvin George Dukes, Atlanta, Ga., Jonathan Cedric Dukes, Victor Brandon Dukes, Stephen Nicholas Dukes, Hephzibah; devoted niece, Vernita Bennings Dukes; nephew, Ronald (Mary) Bennings, Augusta; devoted ex-husband, George Brooks, Jr., Augusta; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
