NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Dennis A. " Big D" Ellis, 57, of Briggs Avenue, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest January 3, 2009, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Gene Jennings officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC, at 3 o'clock. Mr. Ellis was a native of Greenville, SC, spent his childhood in Mancos, CO, having made North Augusta his home for the past 24 years. He attended True North Church, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired from Greenwood, Inc. Mr. Ellis was son of the late Carl and Mary Ellis and brother of the late Leslie Ellis. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Karen B. Ellis; two daughters, Mary Jennifer Ellis, Chattanooga, TN and Virginia Paige Ellis, North Augusta; a brother, Tim Ellis, Greenville; two sisters, Rhonda Arflin and Carla Coleman, both of Greenville. Pallbearers will be Buck Chandler, Fred Hix, William McAlister, Jack Hart, Dwayne Smith and Stephen Chandler. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.
